Amy Doerfler graduated from The University of Louisville with an M.M. in Music Theory and Composition. While there, shw was a recipient of the Bomhard Felowship in Music Composition. She received her undergraduate degree in Music Theory and Composition from The College of Wooster, magna cum laude. Her composition, Kyrie, was written during her first year of graduate study and was premiered as a featured student composition at The University of Louisville's New Music Festival in November, 2004. In December, 2004, Mrs. Doerfler was selected to travel to Poland and have two works performed for an arts exchange program sponsored by The University of Louisville and the K. Szymanowskiego Akademia Muzyczna in Katowice, Poland.
Currently, Mrs. Doerfler is pursuing her Ph.D. in Music Theory and Composition at Kent State University.
