Garth Molyneux was born in 1958 in New York City, and is now a freelance composer in the Chapel Hill, North Carolina area. He has received Bachelors and Masters degrees in Music Composition and Theory from Arizona State University in 1982 and 1985 respectively, and a Doctorate of Musical Arts from The University of Texas at Austin in 1991. His composition teachers include Ronald LoPresti, Randall Shinn, Karl Korte and Donald Grantham.
Garth Molyneux's music has been regularly programmed by a variety of ensembles and soloists across the country. He has won the ASCAP Standard Music Award each year since 1990.
He currently composes, performs and tours with the Men's Choir of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the
Senior Choir at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Cary, North Carolina, which is directed by his wife, Sally.
