Life     Life is an unneeded interruption imposed on infinite time by a self-perpetuating society that has no intrinsic right to exist.   The original estimation of life, and-it-was-very-good, was most unfortunate.   How splendid to be an unconscious rock, existing for ages, without fearing its own erosion.   How excellent to be a post-entropy hydrogen atom, one of the dispersion, unaware of how alone it is.   How superb to be an unmeasured unit of empty space.   How perfect to just not be.     Jody Nagel October 16, 1982
