I suggest that educated people give up the expression "snail mail" (when attempting to refer to "other than e-mail"). The expression positively reeks of the simple-minded rhyming appeal of the masses. From now on, I will use the term "conventional mail."
 
Now that we have microwave ovens, the older kind are referred to as "conventional ovens." I think mail should be given at least the same due respect as ovens. Don't you?
