The closest phenomenon that I can see to anything that might be termed "spirituality" is a kind of psychosis of the human species' mental capacity for taking verbs (such as "to love") and adjective attributes (such as being "good") and turning them into abstract nouns ("Love," "Goodness," etc.), and then renaming the lot of them "God," and then literally believing in these anthropomorphic verbal constructions and the stories which employ them; and then they consider them to possess a Platonic actual existence independent of human brains. And this thing, "spirituality," is considered by them to be "good," rather than deranged.
