Tyler Walker (1978) was "Raised in Clay" according to a local newspaper The Dahlonega Nugget. From the age of four he began creating small forms, abstract sculptures and functional pottery along side his father, one of the most prolific and successful potters in the Southeastern United States. At an early age, Walker's interest in color and texture began to influence his musical taste and ultimately his compositional style. His music has been described as "richly colorful...exciting ...."
Walker's music has been featured in various venues throughout the United States and has been performed by numerous ensembles including NeoPhonia, The Atlanta Percussion Trio, New Perspectives Ensemble, soloists from the Atlanta Ballet, Atlanta Symphony, Gainesville Symphony, Gwinnett Symphony, Philadelphia Symphony, and San-Antonio Symphony.
Tyler Walker holds a Master of Music degree in composition from Georgia State University where he studied with Nickitas J. Demos. He is currently pursuing the Doctor of Musical Arts Degree at the University of Cincinnati College‹ Conservatory of Music where he studies composition with Michael Fiday and computer music with Mara Helmuth.
